Zimmer MIS Hip Procedures offer an alternative approach to joint replacement surgery.  They allow you to access the joint with minimal disruption to muscle and tissue.

For your patients, the goals of Zimmer MIS Hip Procedures include a smaller, less visible incision, less tissue trauma, and a shorter hospital stay, and shorter rehabilitation.

Zimmer strives to offer the latest advancements in procedures, MIS-friendly implants, and specific instrumentation that facilitate these goals.  Furthermore, we continue to build collaborative relationships in the medical community.

Zimmer Minimally Invasive Solutions (MIS) Knee Procedures

Minimally invasive procedures are revolutionizing orthopaedic medicine, and Zimmer has been there from the start.

For knee surgeons, Zimmer offers multiple choices, including the Subvastus, Midvastus and Medial Parapatellar approaches as well as Zimmer MIS Quad-Sparing™ Total Knee Procedure and MIS-specific Tibial options.
Minimally Invasive Solutions

MIS Quad-Sparing TKA

MIS Quad-Sparing TKA is characterized by a capsule-only exposure with no dissection or disruption of the quadriceps muscles or tendon.  The MIS Quad-Sparing Procedure is the newest offered within the knee portfolio of approaches.

MIS Subvastus TKA

MIS Subvastus TKA involves separating the vastus medialis from its attachment and moving the muscle laterally.

MIS Midvastus TKA

MIS Midvastus TKA is a muscle-splitting approach that involves less than a 2cm snip into the vastus medialis where it approaches the quad tendon.

MIS Medial Parapatellar TKA

MIS Medial Parapatellar TKA is a popular approach because of its familiarity, simplicity, and the excellent exposure of all three compartments of the knee.  This approach may be the easiest to attempt when adopting a Zimmer MIS Procedure.

Basic MIS Instrumentation Options are available for these procedures: MIS Multi-Reference® 4-in-1, MIS Intramedullary, MIS Quad-Sparing, and MIS Natural-Knee II Instrument Sets.

Training available on these technologies: The Zimmer Institute provides surgeons the didactic and surgical skills training for Zimmer procedures and products.
