David is so pleased with his Metasul hip that he’s been telling people all over the country about it. And as a telemarketing sales manager, he talks to a lot of people. "My hip doesn’t bother me at all now,” he said proudly. That’s quite a relief after enduring five years of pain. “My hip would always hurt when I woke up,” David said. “It would snap, crackle and pop all the way to breakfast.” |

David wasn’t even aware that he needed a hip replacement -- he felt most of the pain in his lower back.
He uncovered the root of his problem when taking a friend for an appointment with a private practice Orthopedic Surgeon . Even though it wasn’t David’s appointment, the surgeon took some x-rays on the spot.
He first put David on a course of anti-inflammatory medication and pain pills. While this helped with the pain, it didn’t solve the root problem. David had to face the inevitable: it was time for a new hip.
David was worried about the time away from work, fearing he’d have to take 2-3 months off. His fears turned out to be unfounded: he was back at work two-and-a-half weeks after his surgery.
He clearly remembers an incident in the recovery room immediately following his surgery. An elderly roommate who had undergone a hip replacement many years ago was amazed to see David’s doctor advising him to get up and take a few steps.
"No no no! You’re not supposed to get up right after surgery!” the man cried in alarm.
David explained that hip replacement has changed a lot since the old days. After all, people like David have no intention of letting their hips slow them down.
